I will stop biting my fingernails. I will be kinder to everyone, even cheerleaders. I will spend every waking moment thinking about Michael Moscovitz. Mia's back from her first royal trip to Genovia. Now she's ready for what's REALLY important: her love life. Mia and Michael are finally an item, but Grandmere
seems to have other plans. Just before the happy couple's first hot
date, an unmissable royal engagement turns up. Could it be that Michael
doesn't measure up - and that (please not!) Grandmere's got someone else
in mind for Princess Amelia Mignonette Grimaldi Thermopolis Renaldo? |

I read the five Princess Diaries so far back to back, which was very easy as they were one continuous story without any real breaks. Because of that it's hard to remember the specifics of each book, but I do remember liking this one. The story revolves around Mia's first official trip to Genovia, and the aftermath. Grandmere has decided that Mia needs to be hooked up with a royal boyfriend, and perspective consort, but she is madly in love with Michael, her new boyfriend and brother of her best friend Lily. Whilst fighting her Grandmere's evil plots she's also battling her own insecurities about her fledgling relationship with Michael. This was a more tender, less slapstick book than previous offerings and really did cut to the core of young love, and all the crap that goes along with it.
