The A To Z of Everything is a unique publication. Nothing as comprehensive has appeared before. Ranging from Abbreviations to the Zodiac, some of its sections stand up in their own right as reference works: the section on Music encompasses more information than many specialist books; the section of Cinema includes all films of general interest ( and the first and last films of a multitude of stars); the section on History includes a detailed chronology of world history with every major event listed; and the section on Geography is perhaps the only work to include a fully comprehensive list of 'Capitals of the World', even those of uninhabited Pacific islands. The section on Famous People, including their pseudonyms and middle names, is second to none in its thoroughness.

In this new edition, the original topics have been brought up to date, added to and elaborated upon: Abbreviations, for example, now include an essential array of chat-room acronyms; Fashion boasts a list of British Hairdressers of the Year; and Music features a comprehensive list of every Top Ten single in the last forty years. And there are a wealth of new subjects to be discovered and enjoyed too, from the many and varied Top Tens of 2002 to Miss World winners, bingo calls to crime and punishment, the Mr Men books to the characters of Charles Dickens.

This monumental work of reference is a must-have title on your bookshelf - both to dip into and a cornucopia of sheer fact.

I just love facts and lists, and this book is jam-packed with information. It's not a book I'm going to read from cover to cover, but I'm sure I'll turn to it again and again when in need of specific information.
